For me, the sessions that Spencer did, he's done a couple, but he has a very kind of math mind, which is similar to my own. So sometimes going through the practices that he has us do and calculate makes a lot of sense in the end. And then the educational marketing content portion I think is really valuable. We do a little bit of it, but something we can do more and really hone in on. So I think that'll be a really good takeaway after watching that session. I wasn't sure what to expect. I follow a lot of Builder Funnels content. So it actually came pretty in line with a lot of the content I've received. Setting, I like the fact that it was a smaller group. The last couple of conferences we've gone to have been with hundreds of people. It's harder to connect. We have a lot of validation that we're doing things right. And a lot of that's from listening to Builder Funnels for the last 10 years.
I've got some challenges to think about. I'm a one-man operation. I think the content and quality were very good. It's given me some sense that I can indeed refocus my marketing activities. I think I'm trying to position myself ultimately for a transition, and if I don't improve my marketing processes and presence, I think I would have great difficulty. Transitioning it other than just me going away.
I think the segment on website obviously was by far valuable. I had my website designer working most of the night to make changes on our website and I had a several hour call with my owner and we are implementing things as we speak and we're not done with it. It was far beyond what I was expecting to be honest. I've been to a lot of these events and I even used to host events like this as a former employer so I thought that it was going to be somewhat monotone and not really engaging but every single one of you guys have engaged every person within the crowd. It's a nice small intimate crowd so we get one-on-one time with each one of you and we can ask specific questions and I would highly recommend it to anybody.
The workshop's been awesome. I've really enjoyed it. I was originally coming thinking I was just going to be learning about marketing and it's been eye-opening a lot of different areas, just business in general, I mean there's been some great marketing things but team building, really just that culture that - it goes through everything and through everyone, not just from the owner but through the whole team. That part stood out to me the most and what I need to work on into really creating that culture. I think the speakers have been great, I think the information that they've given has been really, really useful. It's been more of an intimate group it's not you know 100s of people here, learning about other people's experiences, that a lot of people are working through the same things we're working through so I think it's been great and being able to have 1:1 conversations with the speakers after they've spoken has been really, really valuable. So I think it's been a great success.
When we were talking about the marketing and different approaches and how tobuild up the leads coming through and how to identify the best methods to use for yourcompany, that was very valuable to me. And then today also, how to create a better design-build agreement and have that contract be able to be presented in a more user-friendly way, that was very valuable to me as well. I didn't really know what to expect for sure. I've watched lots of Spencer's webinars, and so I knew I was going to walk away with valuable information and learn a lot of things. But it just went above and beyond. It covered so much more. Because I watch a lot of marketing webinars, but every time I watch his, I learn something every single time. And sometimes I watch some and I'm like, okay, it can be so vague. And this is so specific to the industry that you just can't replace that information. And I mean, it's just so fine-tuned and it's so above and beyond a marketing company that just works for tons of different kinds of industries. So that's why what he knows and what he has everybody here do is so special. And it's so nice to meet with all these other builders and you know, know that we're going through the same struggles, but we're also at the same kind of level with each other. And so it's really helpful to get together. And because sometimes you're off doing your thing and you kind of feel like you're the only one going through it and it’s just, it makes you feel good to know that other people are overcoming the same obstacles.
