Mariana grew up moving often and lived in places from North Carolina and California to Costa Rica and Italy, but moved to Colorado after graduating from Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, TX. Getting to explore and experience many different cultures and areas is the reason why she pursued a career in communications and marketing -- Mari loves fostering connections with people, and giving a voice to those who improve the quality of life for others. When not working on marketing, she enjoys spending time snowboarding or exploring in a camper van. If it’s not outdoor-related, you can catch Mari painting/drawing, cooking/baking, or reading.
I can talk to anyone for hours about anything.
Someday I Plan To Go To:
All of the above, but am itching to visit Japan or the Zanzibar Islands of Tanzania next.
I find happiness in growing a group of people that increase the quality of life for others by making sure their voices are heard.
Alpe d’Huez, France (2019 ski trip): I could barely speak the language but still made friends for life, while enjoying some of the best views (and food) I’ve ever seen from the top of a mountain.
How Do You Spend Your Spare Time?
Snowboarding or anything outdoor-related.
Best Travel Memory:
One of my best friends and I visited Vancouver, BC for a day before driving up to Whistler for a ski trip. We lost track of time exploring this beautiful city, and realized we had mindlessly walked over 25 miles. I just remember sitting along the beach next to Stanley Park and feeling invigorated by everything we saw and experienced (my feet didn’t feel the same way).
Being able to move around seamlessly my entire life. It was hard at first, but now I consider myself a nomad and find it hard to stay in one place for too long (there is so much more to see and experience!).
Favorite Builder Funnel Moment:
Attending the 2019 Best Places to Work dinner.
Surfing the Himalayas by Frederick Lenz
Favorite 90’s Song:
It’s hard for me to pick one, so I’ll pick many: anything by Britney Spears or the Spice Girls, “Iris” by Goo Goo Dolls, and “I Want It That Way” by Backstreet Boys.
